For the twelfth year in a row, Managing Intellectual Property  has ranked Tilleke & Gibbins as a Tier 1 firm for both Trademark Prosecution and Trademark/Copyright Contentious work in Thailand. The rankings were based on extensive research carried out over six months. A team of researchers sought responses from thousands of practitioners by surveys, e-mail, phone, and in face-to-face meetings.

The ranking’s editorial described Tilleke & Gibbins as having “one of the most reputable IP teams in Thailand with many international brands as clients.” Clients who were interviewed for their thoughts on Tilleke & Gibbins were said to have “considerable praise for the firm, especially for its enforcement practice.” One client was quoted as saying, “Tilleke & Gibbins is responsible for overseeing investigations, reviewing evidence, and coordinating the legal actions necessary to protect our IP rights against infringers in Thailand. And they are great.” Darani Vachanavuttivong, co-managing partner and director of Tilleke & Gibbins’ intellectual property department, was praised for her role in assisting Ferrari in its registration of its prancing horse device mark. Sukontip Jitmongkolthong, partner in the firm, was recommended by clients and described by one in-house counsel as “competent, professional, highly responsive, and [having] a good grasp of the operating environment in Thailand.”
