MIP Asia-Pacific Awards 2019: Tilleke & Gibbins Takes Home Three Trophies

Tilleke & Gibbins is proud to announce that the firm has been selected as the winner of three awards at Managing Intellectual Property’s (MIP)  2019 Asia-Pacific Awards ceremony, which took place on March 20, in Hong Kong. The three awards are as follows:

Firm of the Year Awards

  • Thailand Contentious Firm of the Year
  • Vietnam Firm of the Year

Case of the Year Award

  • Impact Case of the Year for Thailand—for Valentino S.P.A. v. Department of Intellectual Property and Matsuda & Co ., for which the case description can be found here.

Impressively, this announcement marks the sixth consecutive year that the firm’s Vietnam practice has earned the Firm of the Year award, while the Thailand Contentious Firm and Impact Case of the Year awards both debuted this year, making Tilleke & Gibbins the first firm in Asia to be awarded them.

Asia Business Law Journal has released its annual A-List of Vietnam’s Top 100 Lawyers for 2024, featuring four lawyers from Tilleke & Gibbins’ Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City offices: Kien Trung Trinh Linh Thi Mai Nguyen Loc Xuan Le Trung Nguyen As outlined in the magazine’s accompanying editorial report, the A-List rankings are “the result of extensive research and nominations from in-house counsel primarily in Vietnam, but also Vietnam-focused partners with international law firms.” The report further notes, “Comments submitted to Asia Business Law Journal by clients underscore their preference for seasoned lawyers who consistently uphold the highest ethical standards and maintain professionalism and enthusiasm in their interactions.” Published by Vantage Asia, Asia Business Law Journal is an online and print magazine dedicated to the Asia-Pacific legal market. World Trademark Review has released the 2024 edition of the WTR 1000, its annual rankings of the leading trademark lawyers around the world. Tilleke & Gibbins’ regional intellectual property team showed another stellar performance this year, building on the firm’s reputation as a regional powerhouse for trademark-related matters in Southeast Asia. In the 2024 rankings, the firm’s offices in Thailand and Vietnam have retained their top-tier Gold Band rankings, while the Indonesia office achieved a Silver Band ranking in the Prosecution and Strategy category and a Bronze Band ranking in the Enforcement and Litigation category.
