Michael K. Lee to Speak at Legal Week Private Client Forum in Singapore

Legal Week, a well-known magazine that covers the latest in legal news, will hold a Private Client Forum to discuss tax planning, asset protection, wealth management, trusts and estates, and other legal issues relevant to high-net worth individuals in Southeast Asia. The event will feature Michael K. Lee, partner and head of the corporate and commercial department at Tilleke & Gibbins’ Vietnam offices. With Michael’s extensive experience in corporate and venture matters in Vietnam, he will participate in a panel discussion on “Wealth Management in Emerging Indochina,” focusing on investment opportunities in Vietnam.

The Private Client Forum is due to take place on Thursday, September 12, 2013 from 8.30 a.m. to 4.55 p.m. at the Raffles Hotel, Singapore. This event will bring together local and international legal practitioners from across Asia.

At the invitation of the Vietnam’s Ministry of Justice, Dr. Vinh Quoc Nguyen, a partner in Tilleke & Gibbins’ Ho Chi Minh City office, will speak at a special seminar for lawyers and trainees on June 29 in Hanoi. The seminar, organized by the Hanoi Bar Association and focusing on international trade in the context of Vietnam’s international commitments, will take place at the Central Guesthouse at 8 Chu Van An from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Lawyers in attendance can receive credit for compulsory professional training.

Mergers and acquisitions are expected to grow in prominence in Vietnam as the economy resets after the COVID-19 pandemic. Anticipating this impending wave of transactions, the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI) and its arbitration unit, the Vietnam International Arbitration Centre (VIAC), are jointly organizing a day-long training course on M&A for Vietnamese businesses. The workshop will be held on Thursday, June 25, from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at VCCI’s Ho Chi Minh City office.
