Major Amendments to Thailand’s Labor Protection Act Effective May 2019

A new act was published in Thailand’s Government Gazette on April 5, 2019, which will amend the current Labor Protection Act. The new act will become effective 30 days after publication—i.e. on May 5, 2019.

The new act has a substantial impact on statutory severance pay, maternity leave, necessary business leave, employee relocation and transfer, and various other matters.
