Lunch Seminar for STCC, MTCC, and THTA: Preparing for the ASEAN Economic Community

The upcoming ASEAN Economic Community (AEC) integration in 2015 will have major economic implications for companies operating in all ASEAN member states. To give some context to the expected impact of this development, Cynthia Pornavalai, a partner in the corporate and commercial group at Tilleke & Gibbins, will make a presentation on the AEC for members of the Singapore Thai Chamber of Commerce (STCC), the Malaysian-Thai Chamber of Commerce (MTCC), and the Thai-Hong Kong Trade Association (THTA) on September 11, 2012.

Cynthia’s presentation will review the AEC’s goal of transforming the region into an economic powerhouse by making it a single market and production base and allowing for the free flow of goods, labor, services, investment, and capital across the ASEAN member countries. Within this framework, she will review Thailand’s progress in implementing various aspects of the AEC blueprint. Finally, Cynthia will discuss the opportunities and challenges that business operators in Thailand will face in this new economic community.

Time: 12.00 – 13.30
Venue: Tilleke & Gibbins Bangkok office
