John Frangos to Speak at 2019 Lex Mundi Cross Border Investigations Event

John Frangos, a partner and deputy director of Tilleke & Gibbins’ dispute resolution group, has been invited join a panel discussion at the 2019 Lex Mundi Cross Border Investigations: Business Crimes and Compliance Group Global Meeting. John will join three other panelists during this session to provide insights into attorney/client protections, cross border investigations, data protection, and reporting suspicious transactions in each of the jurisdictions in which they practice.

This three-day event, held in Dublin, Ireland, will take place from September 11 to September 13, 2019, and is open only to members of the Lex Mundi network. Thailand’s government has made anti-corruption a focus of its domestic policy. Two new laws, the Licensing Facilitation Act and the Amendments to the Organic Act on Anti-Corruption, have recently been implemented as part of the government’s objective to promote a corruption-free society. Both of these laws work in very different ways, but they share the similar goals of countering bribery and enhancing transparency.

Our nomination in this category is based on our “effort and enthusiasm in supporting pro bono clients over the last year.” This is a distinctive nomination, as Tilleke & Gibbins is one of just three firms in the world under consideration for this award.

David Lyman, chairman and chief values officer at Tilleke & Gibbins, will chair a session on “Anti-Corruption Strategies” at the “Third Conference on Evidence-Based Anti-Corruption Policies” (CEBAP 3), a conference organized by Thailand’s National Anti-Corruption Commission in collaboration with the World Bank and Transparency International. The session will feature prominent government officials who will speak on anti-corruption strategies in Bhutan, Malaysia, and the Philippines.
