John Frangos to Moderate Panel on Anti-Corruption at ACI Singapore 2019

American Conference Institute

On October 16, 2019, John Frangos, partner and deputy director of Tilleke & Gibbins’ dispute resolution group, will join a panel discussion on corporate approaches to various anti-corruption risk factors in emerging APAC. John will be joined by Maija Burtmanis, a senior legal and compliance executive in the life sciences industry, and Bethany Hipp, head of compliance for Asia at BHP (Singapore). Together they will discuss strategies for handling anti-corruption risks in Asia, drawing on their deep experience in anti-corruption and compliance in Asian jurisdictions. They will not only cover the details of preparing for and performing effective risk assessments, but will also share their insights on current and potential risks facing companies operating in the region.

The 8th Asia Pacific Summit on Anti-Corruption is organized by the American Conference Institute (ACI), drawing senior government officials, investigators, and regulators; executives and compliance officers from top multinational corporations; and senior professionals from leading regional and international law firms. John Frangos’ participation in this conference comes in advance of another ACI conference on anti-corruption held in Washington, DC, where he will deliver an update on anti-corruption enforcement and regulation in APAC, particularly concerning the overseas implications of the U.S. Foreign Corrupt Practices Act.
