James Evans Speaks at 3D Printing Conference in Singapore

Today, James Evans, a consultant in the Tilleke & Gibbins Intellectual Property Department, spoke at the Inside 3D Printing Conference & Expo, a business-to-business 3D printing tradeshow in Singapore. The first of its kind in the Asia-Pacific region, the event provided attendees with tutorials, conference sessions, and networking to explore business opportunities, policy considerations, and the latest 3D printers and services.

James spoke on the topic “Legal Protection of 3D Work and Its Various Stages of Production in Asia.” In addition to comparing the types of IP available to inventors of 3D works, he discussed how each type of IP affects inventors’ choices as to how they innovate. James also provided insight into the potential issues in Asia regarding registration and enforcement of 3D works, and he highlighted current and future developments in Asian IP law related to 3D printing.

The Inside 3D Printing Conference & Expo is organized by Mediabistro, a leading provider of jobs, news, education, events, and research for the media industry. The event takes place on October 1-2 at Marina Bay Sands, Singapore.
