IP Lunch Talk on May 14: Update on Thailand’s New Copyright Law

National Innovation Agency and Tilleke & Gibbins

Since the Thai Copyright Act B.E. 2537 (1994) was enacted over 20 years ago, it has remained unchanged. Consequently, Thailand’s copyright law is out of date, and legal measures to combat piracy are inadequate. Thailand’s National Legislative Assembly, however, recently passed two copyright bills into law, and they will take effect in July 2015.

To comment on Thailand’s new copyright law and more, Nandana Indananda, a partner in Tilleke & Gibbins’ intellectual property group, will speak on the topic, “New Changes in Copyright Law and Implications on the Digital Economy” at an IP Lunch Talk cohosted by the National Innovation Agency and Tilleke & Gibbins. Nandana, a former judge of the Central Intellectual Property and International Trade Court in Thailand, will discuss the new copyright law and, in particular, the protection of digital copyrights.

The IP Lunch Talk will be held on May 14, 2015, from 11.30 a.m. to 1.30 p.m., at Tilleke & Gibbins’ office in Bangkok. The seminar will be held in the Thai language, and lunch will be provided for all attendees. If you would like to make a reservation to attend this event, please contact Pinta Punsoni at +66 2653 5546 or [email protected] by May 7.
