FCCT: Nandana Indananda to Speak on Commercial Surrogacy in Thailand

Foreign Correspondents’ Club of Thailand

Thailand’s industry of commercial surrogacy continues to find itself at the center of public debate, with the news of a Japanese man attempting to father at least 15 children through Thai surrogates adding to the already-frenzied media storm surrounding Baby Gammy, a disabled baby who was allegedly abandoned with his Thai surrogate mother by an Australian couple.

In light of recent events, the Foreign Correspondents’ Club of Thailand, Southeast Asia’s largest and oldest press club, will host a panel discussion to debate the topic “Commercial Surrogacy in Thailand: Issues and Obstacles.” Nandana Indananda, a partner in Tilleke & Gibbins’ intellectual property group, will join the event as a panelist. Nandana helped draft a new law on surrogacy in Thailand.

The event will take place at the Foreign Correspondents’ Club of Thailand in Maneeya Center Building in Bangkok on August 27, 2014, at 7 p.m. If you would like to learn more, please visit the Foreign Correspondents’ Club of Thailand website.
