EuroCham Luncheon on IP Protection at Vietnam’s Borders

European Chamber of Commerce in Vietnam

In seeking to disrupt infringers, intellectual property owners often find that their anticounterfeiting programs are most effective when they focus on border measures in cooperation with customs authorities.

To discuss best practices in this area, Tilleke & Gibbins is collaborating with the European Chamber of Commerce in Vietnam to cosponsor a business luncheon on “Intellectual Property Right Protection at the Border: Stopping Counterfeits and Infringing Goods.” Mr. Tran Viet Hung, deputy head of the IPR protection team within the General Department of Customs, will join the event as a special guest speaker. Following the main presentation, Thomas J. Treutler, partner and managing director of Tilleke & Gibbins and chair of the EuroCham IPR Sector Committee, will moderate a panel discussion featuring representatives from the private sector who will share insights from their efforts to suppress IP infringement at the borders.

The luncheon will be held on January 18, 2013, at the Sheraton Saigon in Ho Chi Minh City. For more information or to register for the event, please visit the EuroCham Vietnam website.
