Dr. Ross Taylor and Nwe Oo to Deliver Webinar on Myanmar’s New Insolvency Law

Earlier this year, the government of Myanmar introduced the new Insolvency Law 2020 and Insolvency Rules 2020, which have effectively modernized the legal framework for corporate insolvency and bankruptcy in the jurisdiction. To explain the new legislation and discuss how quickly it may become relevant to companies and investors weathering the COVID-19 pandemic, Tilleke & Gibbins will host a free-to-attend webinar entitled, “What to Expect from Myanmar’s New Insolvency Law.”

During this online session, Dr. Ross Taylor and Nwe Oo of Tilleke & Gibbins’ office in Yangon will provide an overview of corporate insolvency and rehabilitation under the new law, lead attendees through relevant procedures for both debtors and creditors, and discuss the requirements and consequences of winding up a company in Myanmar.

The webinar will be broadcast live on Thursday, August 20, 2020, starting at 2 p.m. (GMT+7) and will be conducted in English. If you’re interested in attending, please register your interest by sending an email to [email protected].
