A recent article from Asia IP  featured insights from two of Tilleke & Gibbins’ IP partners about how IP rights management activities have fared during the COVID-19 crisis. The magazine interviewed IP practitioners from across the Asia Pacific region to get a sense of how companies, legal practitioners, and government IP agencies have been carrying on in the more restrictive atmosphere of lockdowns and precautionary measures.

John Frangos, partner and deputy director of Tilleke & Gibbins’ dispute resolution department, and head of the firm’s aviation industry team, was recently interviewed about the Thai government’s decision to allow Thai Airways to enter restructuring proceedings for two articles by aviation industry data and analytics leader, Cirium.

On May 14, Noppramart Thammateeradaycho, counsel in Tilleke & Gibbins’ dispute resolution practice, will present on the issue of COVID-19 as force majeure from the perspective of contractual performance. Titled “The Impact of COVID-19 as Force Majeure on Commercial Contracts,” the presentation will be the sixth installment of the ongoing COVID-19 webinar series organized jointly by Tilleke & Gibbins and the Thai Listed Companies Association (TLCA).

On May 15, 2020, Peeyakorn Suparugbundit, an attorney-at-law in Tilleke & Gibbins’ intellectual property group, will lead a webinar on the management and protection of patents in Thailand. The webinar will be presented by the National Innovation Agency (NIA) as part of their NIA Academy initiative, which aims to give entrepreneurs, startups, and innovators a platform to learn about tools and techniques for achieving success in their Thai ventures.
