Parichart Monaiyakul, an attorney-at-law in the firm’s intellectual property group, is featured in an interview in the May 17, 2011, edition of the Bangkok Post. The article, “Spot the Fakes: Nothing Is What It Seems in This Display” by Peerawat Jariyasombat, provides an overview of the Tilleke & Gibbins Museum of Counterfeit Goods. In discussing how consumers can identify counterfeit goods, Parichart said, “You can often identify counterfeit goods based on their quality, the place where they are being sold, as well as the price and the packaging. Genuine products should be well-packaged. So, if you find it at a street stall on the footpath without packaging, you can be quite sure that it is a fake.” The article goes on to further discuss the prevalence of counterfeit goods in certain markets and the dangers of low-quality fakes.

The documentary, which delves into the harmful effects of fake goods, showcases the museum’s stock of counterfeit products and interviews Suebsiri Taweepon, an attorney-at-law in the Tilleke & Gibbins intellectual property group.Suebsiri was interviewed about the different types of intellectual property, the effect of counterfeit goods on companies, and the fake products housed in the museum.
