Athistha (Nop) Chitranukroh to Speak on RegTech at Startup Thailand

Startup Thailand

On Friday, May 18, Athistha (Nop) Chitranukroh, a partner in Tilleke & Gibbins’ corporate and commercial department, will speak at Startup Thailand, Thailand’s largest tech industry startup event, at the Queen Sirikit National Convention Center in Bangkok.

Athistha will first take to the stage at 10 am to give a high-level overview of RegTech—technological advances aimed at digitizing the enforcement of government regulations—and why tech startups and other tech industry players should be actively aware of it.

At 11.15 am, Athistha will return to the stage to moderate a panel discussion, building on the same topic by including the regulators’ points of view. She will be joined by representatives from four of the government agencies instrumental in driving RegTech in Thailand: The Bank of Thailand, The Securities and Exchange Commission, The Office of Insurance Commission, and the National Broadcasting and Telecommunication Commission.

Startup Thailand is the largest tech startup event in the country and one of the largest events of its kind in Southeast Asia. It is operated by the Thai government’s Ministry of Science and Technology, via the National Startup Committee and the National Innovation Committee, and will include 18 stages hosting dozens of industry leaders. An estimated 60,000 attendees are expected over the four-day event, which runs from May 17 to May 20. To find out more, please visit the Startup Thailand website.
