Asialaw Profiles 2019: Tilleke & Gibbins Highly Ranked in Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, and Myanmar

Tilleke & Gibbins’ four newest offices had a strong showing in Asialaw Profiles 2019, a guide to Asia-Pacific’s leading domestic and regional law firms.

In Indonesia, where Tilleke & Gibbins operates exclusively in the intellectual property space, the firm’s IP practice was “Highly Recommended” by Asialaw, while in the newly introduced industry sector rankings, the firm received “Recommended” rankings in Consumer Goods and Services as well as Industrials and Manufacturing (the highest rankings awarded in those categories).

In Cambodia, Laos, and Myanmar, Tilleke & Gibbins was recognized as “Highly Recommended” for General Business Law, the only practice area currently ranked by Asialaw Profiles for these developing jurisdictions.

For industry sectors, the Cambodia office was “Highly Recommended” in Consumer Goods and Services, and “Recommended” in Industrials and Manufacturing. In the analysis section, one client commented, “The firm is wonderful. Great follow up. No need to use anyone else.”

The Laos office was “Recommended” in both Banking and Financial Services and Infrastructure, (the only two industry sectors included in the Laos rankings), with a client praising the team as “diligent and highly responsive.”

Myanmar had a particularly strong showing, with rankings in every available industry sector: “Highly Recommended” in Banking and Financial Services and Energy, and “Recommended” in Infrastructure, Real Estate, and Technology and Telecoms.

The 2021 edition of Chambers Asia-Pacific has been released, with Tilleke & Gibbins earning high honors across all of the firm’s jurisdictions in Southeast Asia. For Thailand, the firm earned rankings in all of the practice areas ranked in Chambers Asia-Pacific 2021, including Band 1 rankings—the publication’s highest recognition for practice areas—for its intellectual property and employment practices.
