Asialaw: John E. King Quoted in Cambodia Investment Report

Asialaw Profiles

Asialaw Profiles, a legal publisher aimed at corporate executives, in-house counsel, and other professionals interested in legal services in the Asia-Pacific region, has produced a comprehensive report on the investment market in Cambodia. The Cambodia Country Report  quotes John King, a partner in Tilleke & Gibbins’ Phnom Penh office, on Cambodia’s emerging financial services industry.

“Interest in the financial sector has been driven by the current low level of market penetration, supportive government policies, good economic growth potential, increasing foreign investments, including by foreign banks,” John is quoted as saying. “The robust and healthy growth in the sector can be seen through the rapid rise in the number of loans issued and deposits made, high liquidity, low levels of non-performing loans and extensive recruitment in the banking sector,” he continues, reflecting the positive outlook for financial players in the growing Cambodian economy.

The report is based on Asialaw’s most recent annual research, which also resulted in Tilleke & Gibbins being nominated for eight regional and four national awards at the Asialaw Legal Practice Awards.
