Writing and managing a commercial contract can be a process fraught with potential pitfalls. To explore some of the complex factors involved, Asia Business Connect organized the “Contract Management Excellence Summit 2011” on October 19-20 in Bangkok.

Noting the impact of IP judgments and settlements in Asia, Asia IP has recognized a civil patent litigation matter handled by Tilleke & Gibbins as one of Thailand’s landmark cases of the past year in its annual Landmark Cases issue. The dispute in this complex case revolved around the infringement of a patent related to the material sciences industry. In the case, Tilleke & Gibbins successfully secured a rare Anton Piller order from the Thai Intellectual Property and International Trade Court to seize crucial evidence ahead of the trial.

The upcoming “Settlement of Disputes by Reconciliation” seminar, sponsored by the Thailand Department of Intellectual Property, will include Titirat Wattanachewanopakorn as a speaker.
