Tilleke & Gibbins has been nominated for the following three awards in the Asialaw Asia-Pacific Dispute Resolution Awards 2016:

  1. National Law Firm of the Year – Vietnam
  2. National Law Firm of the Year – Thailand
  3. Disputes Star of the Year – Thailand – Tiziana Sucharitkul

The awards celebrate the leaders in litigation and dispute resolution across 14 jurisdictions in the Asia-Pacific. On September 24, the winners of the inaugural Asialaw Asia-Pacific Dispute Resolution Awards 2015 were announced at the Ritz-Carlton Hotel in Hong Kong, and Tiziana Sucharitkul, co-managing partner and director of Tilleke & Gibbins’ dispute resolution and litigation group, was named the Disputes Star of the Year in Thailand for her leadership of our outstanding dispute resolution and litigation team. The National Legislative Assembly recently passed a bill amending the Civil Procedure Code to allow for class action legal proceedings in Thailand. The bill has received royal endorsement, and it will become effective in December 2015. While litigation prospects in Thailand are potentially more limited than those in other jurisdictions, such as North America, the legislation is nevertheless expected to have a significant impact on business operators.

In recognition of Tilleke & Gibbins’ pro bono practice, our firm has been nominated as “2015 Domestic Law Firm of the Year” at this year’s TrustLaw Awards. Our nomination in this category is based on our “effort and enthusiasm in supporting pro bono clients over the last year.” This is a distinctive nomination, as Tilleke & Gibbins is one of just three firms in the world under consideration for this award.
