AMCHAM Thailand Event: Legal Updates Affecting SMEs

Alan Adcock, a partner and deputy director of Tilleke & Gibbins’ intellectual property and regulatory affairs groups, and Chaiwat Keratisuthisathorn, an attorney-at-law in the firm’s corporate and commercial team, will be addressing the Small and Medium Enterprises (SME) Committee of the American Chamber of Commerce in Thailand (AMCHAM) at their meeting on July 12.

Alan and Chaiwat will be joined by representatives from Sri-Trang Agro Industry, LawPlus, and PriceSanond, and together they will host a discussion and Q&A session on major legal changes in the following four areas most applicable to SMEs in the “Thailand 4.0” ecosystem:

  • Corporate and Compliance Matters: Company registration, changes in company registration particulars, directors’ liabilities, shareholders/joint venture agreements, employment contracts, Board of Directors’ and shareholders’ meetings, tax and other official filings and reports, etc.
  • Commercial Transaction Laws and Practices: Sale and purchase agreements, office space lease agreements, online transactions, computer crime law, advertising and consumer protection law, etc.
  • Funding and Collateral: Shareholder loans, venture capital funding, financial institution funding, loan agreements, share pledges, mortgages, and business collateral
  • Brand Building and Know-How Protection: Trademarks, copyrights, designs, trade secrets, etc.
