Alan Adcock to Serve as Panelist on Agribusiness and Food at ASEAN-EU Business Summit

EU-ASEAN Business Council and EU-Malaysia Chamber of Commerce and Industry

Alan Adcock, partner and deputy director of the intellectual property department at Tilleke & Gibbins, will participate in a panel discussion on agribusiness and food at the “4th ASEAN-EU Business Summit 2015,” a forum cohosted by the EU-ASEAN Business Council and the EU-Malaysia Chamber of Commerce and Industry. The forum will include discussions on ASEAN integration, opportunities for international businesses and SMEs, obstacles in the journey toward a single ASEAN market, and the lessons learned from the European integration project. Alan’s panel discussion on the agricultural and food sectors will cover the following main topics:

  • Consumer protection
  • Industry competition
  • Harmonization of standards

The 4th ASEAN-EU Business Summit 2015 will take place on August 23, from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., at the Mandarin Oriental hotel in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Treutler and Loc Xuan Le, representing the South-East Asia IPR SME Helpdesk, will speak to business mission delegates from European healthcare and medical device companies at two events in Ho Chi Minh City on July 31 and August 1. The events are part of the EU Business Avenues program, an EU-funded initiative helping European SMEs in various industries to extend their business to Southeast Asian markets.
