Peerapong Pornpipatkul is a senior associate in Tilleke & Gibbins’ corporate and commercial group and head of the firm’s tax practice. He specializes in tax structuring, business tax advice, corporate restructuring, and M&A. He has extensive experience advising on both domestic and cross-border tax issues (corporate/personal income tax, value added tax, specific business tax, stamp duty, customs and excise tax) on a wide variety of investment and complex business transactions, including business restructuring; entire business transfer (EBT); IP-related transactions; engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) and turnkey contracts, investment securities; related-party transactions; transfer pricing; base erosion and profit shifting (BEPS) issues; and so on. With respect to corporate transactions, he assists companies with M&A and capital markets deals, including venture capital investment in start-ups, pre-IPO restructuring, share and asset acquisitions, initial share offerings (IPOs), debt securities issuance, and Stock Exchange of Thailand (SET) and Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) regulations.
Peerapong is known for his innovative and client-focused solutions, and is highly sought-after for his in-depth tax and structuring knowledge. Prior to joining Tilleke & Gibbins, he worked at a respected U.S. law firm, a Big Four accounting firm, and the Revenue Department of Thailand, where he served as a professional-level tax audit officer.
A Thai qualified lawyer and member of the Thai Bar Association and the Lawyers Council of Thailand, Peerapong holds bachelor’s degrees in accounting, law, and political science from leading Thai universities, as well as an LLM in International Tax Law from King’s College London.
