Threenuch Chatmahasuwan is an experienced attorney-at-law in the intellectual property group of Tilleke & Gibbins. Her practice focuses primarily on trademark issues both in Thailand and overseas. Threenuch works with clients to create strategies for worldwide protection of trademark rights, provides legal advice on copyright and geographical indication issues, conducts trademarks searches and other investigations, and negotiates with opposing parties to further clients’ goals. She also prepares and prosecutes trademark applications, appeal petitions, oppositions, and cancellations in Thailand and abroad. Threenuch acts on behalf of clients in diverse industries, including electronics, chemicals, apparel, cosmetics, healthcare, and food and beverages.

Threenuch is a patent agent and a notarial services attorney. She is also a member of the Thai Bar Association and the Lawyers Council of Thailand.

  • Cancelled two trademark registrations that had each been valid for more than 20 years.

  • Negotiated with an opposing party, who ultimately agreed to withdraw the trademark registration for no compensation.

  • Filed an appeal petition against the Cambodian Trademark Examiner’s disclaimer requirement.

  • Overcame a refusal of the Thai Trademark Registrar based on nondistinctiveness by submitting evidence of use.
