Dat Thanh Nguyen is a patent executive in Tilleke & Gibbins’ Hanoi office. Dat specializes in information technology and electronics, having spent more than 13 years prosecuting patent applications in these fields from the pre-filing to post-granting stages. He has also handled mechanical and chemical patents. During this time, he prosecuted more than 850 patent applications.
Dat holds a Bachelor of Information Technology from the Hanoi University of Technology. He also received a Diploma in Software Engineering, with distinction, from FPT-Aptech. After graduating from university, he worked for one year as a software developer for FPT Software, one of Vietnam’s top IT companies. Dat then spent several years working at a top IP law firm. He has also completed a training course in patent drafting techniques that was organized by the European Patent Office and the IP Office of Vietnam. Dat speaks both Vietnamese and English.

Managed patents for a top Korean electronics company, and several top European and Chinese electronics and telecommunications companies.
Advised a client on pursuing an invention related to betting (betting machine) by filing an appeal to the Director of the IP Office of Vietnam.
