Juan Wen Kit is a consultant and patent agent in Tilleke & Gibbins’ intellectual property department in Bangkok, where he advises on patent drafting, prosecution, and protection for innovations across a wide spectrum of industries. International, regional, and domestic companies rely on Kit’s expertise and guidance to secure and maintain their patent rights in Thailand and elsewhere in Southeast Asia.
Kit is especially experienced in handling patent portfolios of all sizes and providing clients with sound advice on patent-related issues. His work includes conducting prior art searches, providing freedom-to-operate analysis, drafting patents, and prosecuting patent applications.
Some of his specialties include patent drafting and prosecution in the fields of mechanical inventions, chemistry, chemical production and processes, wastewater treatment and management, and selected areas of information technology. Kit also provides litigation support to the legal teams by offering relevant technical input and analysis.
Prior to joining Tilleke & Gibbins, Kit worked extensively as a senior patent executive and engineer for many companies in Malaysia. He holds an integrated master’s degree in chemical engineering from the University of Nottingham and is a registered patent agent in Malaysia.
