Tilleke & Gibbins is proud to announce the publication of Art of Southeast Asian Textiles: The Tilleke & Gibbins Collection. Written by Dr. Linda S. McIntosh and published by Serindia Publications, this beautifully illustrated book highlights the museum-quality textiles that compose the Tilleke & Gibbins Textile Collection.

On the Thai Museum Day, December 3, 2012, the Museum Association of Thailand is hosting a program, involving lectures and a panel discussion, around the topic of museum curators and their significance and purpose, at the Auditorium of the National Museum, Bangkok.

Tilleke & Gibbins’ Textile Collection and Museum of Counterfeit Goods were both featured in a recent issue of Priew Magazine, a local, well-known lifestyle magazine. An article, written by representatives who visited the Tilleke & Gibbins Bangkok office, details the origin and purpose of the Textile Collection, as well as the manner in which textiles are displayed around the office.

The October issue of Martha Stewart Living features a prominent article about valuable textiles originating from all over Southeast Asia. In an interview, Wipawee Tiyawes, curator of the Tilleke & Gibbins Textile Collection, provides some key background information about the firm’s collection, the different regions where the textiles originate, and how they can be distinguished from one another. The article also details how owners must be very careful in preserving the textiles with specific storage conditions and cleaning methods.
