The fifth edition of The Employment Law Review was recently published by Law Business Research. The book, published in hardcover and as an e-book, provides a comprehensive overview of labor law in 50 different jurisdictions. Tilleke & Gibbins wrote the chapter for Vietnam.
While last year’s chapter focused on the changes brought about by Vietnam’s new 2012 Labor Code, which took effect on May 1, 2013, this year’s chapter examines recent legislation in the areas of trade unions, labor outsourcing, and foreign nationals working in Vietnam.
In addition, general topics covered include:
- Basics of entering an employment relationship
- Restrictive covenants
- Foreign workers
- Global policies
- Employee representation
- Data protection
- Discontinuing employment
- Transfer of business
