Tilleke & Gibbins Sponsors International Government Conference on Combating Counterfeit Medicine

Tilleke & Gibbins is proud to sponsor the Regional Conference on Combating Counterfeit Medicine in Phnom Penh being held at the Sofitel Phuketra Hotel in Phnom Penh, Cambodia, on November 5 and 6, 2018. The event will focus on the dangers posed by counterfeit medicine worldwide and the methods available for tackling the spread of such counterfeits in Southeast Asia and beyond.

Speakers will include Cambodian Prime Minister, Hun Sen; representatives of the World Health Organization, INTERPOL, and the European Union, among others; and representatives from a wide range of Cambodian government ministries. Providing the private sector view on the subject, Alan Adcock, partner and deputy director of intellectual property at Tilleke & Gibbins; Jay Cohen, partner and director of Tilleke & Gibbins’ Cambodia practice; Alec Wheatley, a consultant in Tilleke & Gibbins’ intellectual property group in Bangkok; and David Mol, an advisor in Tilleke & Gibbins’ Phnom Penh office, will jointly present a session entitled “An Industry View On The Importance of Legal and Genuine Human, Animal, and Plant Pharmaceuticals.”

Co-hosted by the Cambodian government, French government, and the Institut de Recherche Anti-Contrefaçon de Médicaments , the event will host around 400 stakeholders from intergovernmental organizations; ministers and ministerial representatives from China, France, Laos, Myanmar, Thailand, and Vietnam; and key stakeholders from across the Cambodian public sector. Attendance is by invitation only.
