The Japan Patent Attorneys Association (JPAA) will hold its 2013 IP Practitioners Seminar at the Plaza Athenee Hotel in Bangkok on March 4-5, 2013. Organized by the JPAA in cooperation with the Thai Department of Intellectual Property, Japan External Trade Organization, and Intellectual Property Association of Thailand, the seminar will provide IP practitioners and creators with a practical overview of the Japanese IP system. Applicants and their agents will gain specific new tools and information they can use to smooth prosecution, increase the value of the IP portfolio, and reduce overall costs.
On March 4, Nandana Indananda, partner in the Tilleke & Gibbins intellectual property group, will present on “How to Obtain IP Protections of a New Product in Thailand.” Using a case study, he will review the available protections for invention patents, designs, trademarks, copyright, and trade secrets. This will be part of a session focusing on how to secure the necessary IP protections before marketing your product in Japan, Indonesia, and Thailand.
