Tilleke & Gibbins is pleased to announce the addition of James Evans as a consultant in the firm’s intellectual property group. A seven-year UK qualified lawyer, James has spent over five years in Bangkok and has also handled matters in Indonesia, Malaysia, Cambodia, Laos, and Vietnam. He has experience in all types of IP litigation and in patent and trademark portfolio management (from filing to oppositions, appeals, and cancelations). In particular, James has worked on patent infringement and revocation matters in Thailand in the pharmaceutical field, in which he has acted for large pharmaceutical companies in litigation against generics companies. James has carried out mediations both at the Department of Intellectual Property and at Thailand’s Central Intellectual Property and International Trade Court on patent and copyright matters. James also acts for a wide range of international and local clients in trademark and passing-off actions. His experience covers civil actions at Court and enforcement work with Thailand’s police force and Customs. James is based in the firm’s Bangkok office.
