Spanish Newspaper Examines Counterfeit Goods Market in Thailand

La Vanguardia

After the annual Special 301 Report was published by the Office of the United States Trade Representative this year, denouncing the worst offenders of international intellectual property rights, Spanish news agency EFE published an article in La Vanguardia, quoting Clemence Gautier, consultant at Tilleke & Gibbins. The Spanish-language article provides a general overview on the counterfeit goods market in Thailand. Clemence adds detailed insight into the impact of the tourism industry in Thailand, the government’s response, and how despite a reduction in the number of local manufacturers of counterfeit goods, Thailand is still well-positioned as a major transportation hub of such goods.

EFE is the largest Spanish-speaking news agency and fourth-largest news agency in the world, with more than 60 years of experience. EFE also publishes over 40% of international news all over Latin America.
