British Chamber to Host Panel Discussion on ASEAN Economic Community

British Chamber of Commerce in Thailand

The upcoming ASEAN Economic Community (AEC) integration in 2015 will have major economic implications for companies operating in all ASEAN member states. To give some context to the expected impact of this development, the British Chamber of Commerce in Thailand (BCCT) is organizing a panel discussion featuring Cynthia Pornavalai, a partner in the Tilleke & Gibbins corporate and commercial group. During the event, Cynthia will discuss:

  • Thailand’s progress in implementing the AEC blueprint
  • The legal hurdles posed by the Foreign Business Act and Alien Employment Act
  • Overall challenges with aligning laws and regulations across the region

Joining Cynthia on the panel will be Dr. Kirida Bhaopichitr, senior economist at the World Bank’s Bangkok office. The event will be held at 6:30 p.m. on February 5 at the Centara Grand Hotel in Bangkok. To register, please visit the BCCT website.
