Nada Songsasen is a consultant for Tilleke & Gibbins’ Myanmar practice. She has extensive experience in assisting clients with various matters related to Myanmar laws, including foreign direct investment, mergers and acquisitions, regulatory compliance, joint ventures, and other corporate matters. Her clients include well-known multinationals, leading Thai corporations, and government agencies.

Prior to joining Tilleke & Gibbins, Nada worked at a leading international law firm in Thailand specializing in Myanmar direct investment.

With her diverse background and experience, Nada has also been invited to speak at numerous events organized by private organizations and government agencies. She is also involved in the Myanmar Legal Study Project of the Office of Council of State of Thailand, with her main areas of study in this project including foreign investments, investment promotion, telecommunication business, and labor laws in Myanmar.

Nada received her law degree from Bangkok University. She is a member of the Lawyers Council of Thailand, and an extraordinary member of the Thai Bar Association.

  • Drafted transaction agreements and provided other assistance to a leading fertilizer company in its establishment of a joint venture entity and increase of capital.

  • Represented and acted as legal counsel for a Thai listed company in the acquisition of one of Myanmar’s largest microfinance companies.  

  • Advised a highly recognized food and beverage company on the distribution of its products and the engagement of an OEM manufacturer in Myanmar 

  • Assisted a leading microfinance company in establishing a microfinance business and securing a microfinance license in Myanmar.

  • Advised a well-known clothing retailer on relevant Myanmar laws governing its retail business in Myanmar. 

  • Advised a leading broadband provider on all aspects of Myanmar law regarding its day-to-day operations in Myanmar. 

  • Represented a leading energy company in connection with its potential investment in an electricity business in Myanmar. 

  • Advising a client on the establishment of a construction and property development business in Thilawa Special Economic Zone.

  • Advised a leading food processing company on Myanmar regulations regarding manufacturing and distribution of fishery products in Myanmar.
