Biography

Jasmine Pongkasem is a consultant in the intellectual property department at Tilleke & Gibbins in Bangkok. She focuses on patent matters and assists both domestic and international clients with drafting and filing patent applications, patent prosecution, patent searches and analyses, and patentability and freedom-to-operate assessments. Her work supports clients in protecting and managing their technological innovations in Thailand.

Prior to joining Tilleke & Gibbins, Jasmine worked as a patent and innovation consultant at an intellectual property consulting firm in Thailand, where she assisted clients with patent drafting, filing strategies, patent searches, and prosecution management. Earlier in her career, she was a research assistant and laboratory technician at the National Nanotechnology Center under Thailand’s National Science and Technology Development Agency (NSTDA), and later worked as a laboratory analyst at Shell Thailand.

Jasmine holds a bachelor’s in materials science from Thammasat University and a master’s in applied polymer science and textile technology from Chulalongkorn University, and completed the Japan-Asia Youth Exchange Program in Science (JAYSES) at Nagaoka University of Technology.

  • Assisted clients in drafting patent specifications and preparing patent applications for filing in Thailand and overseas across various technical fields, including materials science and chemical-related technologies, and supported the patent prosecution process to help secure patent protection for their innovations.
  • Conducted patent searches and analyses to assess patentability and potential infringement risks, helping clients evaluate the strength of their inventions and make informed decisions on patent filing strategies.
  • Advised clients on freedom-to-operate analyses to identify potential patent risks in Thailand and support business expansion and product commercialization strategies.
  • Supported clients in managing patent prosecution matters, including responding to office actions and coordinating with patent examiners and relevant authorities in Thailand.
  • Assisted companies in developing patent filing strategies and managing patent portfolios to strengthen protection of their technological innovations in Thailand.
