Biography

Natthakit Hongchoo is an associate in the Tilleke & Gibbins’ corporate and commercial group in Bangkok. He advises clients in the technology, telecommunications, fintech, and digital commerce sectors, with a practice encompassing a broad range of legal matters, including technology-related commercial agreements, data privacy and cybersecurity compliance, and regulatory issues related to digital infrastructure and electronic payment services.

Prior to joining Tilleke & Gibbins, Natthakit worked at international law firms in Bangkok and at an intergovernmental organization in Vietnam. He has advised on corporate matters, M&A deals, finance, and capital markets transactions, including aircraft financing, securities compliance, and cross-border M&A. In addition, he has experience in international arbitration and dispute resolution proceedings.

Natthakit holds an LLB from Thammasat University and a license from the Lawyers Council of Thailand.


Experience
  • Provided legal and administrative support to arbitral tribunals in international arbitration proceedings involving states, state entities, international organizations, and private parties, including in matters concerning the designation of appointing authorities and related issues, including the appointment and challenge of arbitrators under the UNCITRAL Arbitration Rules.
  • Advised on regulatory compliance under the supervision of the Securities and Exchange Commission of Thailand in connection with a proposed acquisition of shares in a Thai asset management company.
  • Advised a Thai universal bank on the implementation of electronic signatures under the Electronic Transactions Act, in relation to the execution of digital agreements for its self-service unsecured loan offering via digital banking application.
  • Assisted a bondholder representative in relation to a proposed three-tranche offering of guaranteed, registered senior bonds by a water management company, intended for capital investment in a new infrastructure project, targeting institutional and high-net-worth investors.
  • Advised a leading European aluminum shipbuilder on the regulatory framework for shipbuilding business in Thailand, including guidance on securing permits and licenses required for potential establishment and operational activities.
  • Assisted a Thai-listed logistics services and solutions provider in forming a strategic partnership with renewable energy producers (compressed biomass fuel) in Lao PDR, which involved advising on cross-border transportation arrangements and customs clearance processes.
  • Provided pro bono legal support to a US-based impact investing debt fund in relation to the financing of a food and beverage manufacturer for the procurement of agricultural products from farmers in rural Thailand.
