Biography

Annisa Syaharani is an intellectual property and regulatory affairs coordinator in Tilleke & Gibbins’ office in Indonesia, where she handles trademark prosecution and provides a wide range of regulatory advice. In trademark prosecution, Annisa assists clients with all stages of the trademark registration process, from conducting trademark searches and checking the availability of the mark for the intended goods or services sought to be protected to finally registering the trademark with the Directorate General of Intellectual Property (DGIP). In relation to regulatory affairs matters, she also arranges consultations with relevant government bodies, such as the Indonesian FDA (BPOM), the National Standards Agency (BSN), and others.

Prior to joining Tilleke & Gibbins, she was an intern in the firm’s Indonesia IP team and at the Corruption Division of the Attorney General’s Office of Indonesia. Annisa graduated with an LLB from Universitas Indonesia, specializing in economic and technology law.


Experience
  • Provided regulatory advice and assisted with product registration with the Indonesian FDA (BPOM), SNI certification, and halal certification.
  • Provided regulatory advice on establishing and operating a telemedicine platform in Indonesia.
  • Provided regulatory advice on genetic resources and reviewed a medical device advertisement.
  • Handled trademark prosecution matters including trademark registrations, renewals, recordals, and others, in addition to performing trademark searches and drafting cease-and-desist letters to protect trademark rights holders against unauthorized uses of their mark.
  • Gave advisory opinions regarding possible trademark infringement in Indonesia.
