Punyavee Koaysomboon is an associate in Tilleke & Gibbins’ corporate and commercial group in Bangkok, where he assists clients on technology and data protection matters, coordination with Thai authorities regarding business activities, and commercial transactions. He has particular experience providing advice and guidance on Thailand's Personal Data Protection Act (PDPA) to companies in a range of industries, such as aviation, consumer products, manufacturing, and others. He has been a project monitor overseeing PDPA compliance processes—such as record and processing activity validation—and has led numerous PDPA training sessions.
In addition, Punyavee has broad experience helping companies prepare and submit corporate documents with relevant authorities, such as Thailand’s Department of Business Development and Board of Investment. He is also an active member of legal teams facilitating mergers and acquisitions. He has served as a project manager to monitor the scope of work and handle various tasks in the amalgamation processes, such as employment, licensing, and legal due diligence.
Punyavee holds an LLB from Thammasat University. He is licensed by the Lawyers Council of Thailand and is a member of the Thai Bar Association.
- Assisted a manufacturing company in the aviation industry by monitoring their PDPA deployment project and participating in all processes, including researching and determining the scope of work and responsibilities of various departments, validating the record of processing activities (ROPA), and preparing legal documents.
- Assisted several machinery manufacturing companies in Thailand with their amalgamation to form a new machinery manufacturing company as part of their strategy to increase competitiveness in the Thai and international markets.
- Contributed to a legal due diligence report on agricultural companies for a holding company with multiple agriculture companies intending to expand its business in the Thai market.
- Assisted with the entire business transfer (EBT) of an electronics component manufacturer by overseeing the process of transferring land in several areas, which entailed liaising with officers from the Department of Lands and preparing necessary documentation for the transfer process.
- Assisted an international holding company that has business interests in hotels and construction with its expansion plans, including establishment of a new corporation, capital increase, and setting up overseas branches.
