Biography

Dusita Khanijou is a consultant in Tilleke & Gibbins’ corporate and commercial department in Bangkok. She assists international and local clients on a wide range of corporate and commercial matters, including labor and employment matters (e.g., employment agreements, terminations, work rules and regulations, and employee benefits), regulatory advice for securities and derivatives, share disclosure and restructuring, obtaining licenses from the SEC, corporate formation, real estate matters, and antitrust and competition. She also assists in family-related private client work, including the execution of wills. Regarded as an employment law specialist, Dusita was one of just 40 young practitioners recognized in the International Employer Lawyer’s Tomorrow’s Leaders 2024 publication—the only listed expert in Thailand.

Dusita graduated with an LLB from the University of Manchester and an LLM from the London School of Economics and Political Science. She is fluent in both English and Thai, and is able to communicate with conversational proficiency in Punjabi and Hindi.


Experience
  • Retained to advise a global humanitarian organization on a wide variety of employment matters in Thailand that arise from their local operations, including reviewing and revising various documents, localizing internal policies, and giving labor and employment presentations to personnel.
  • Advised an American commercial real estate company that provides shared workspaces for technology startups on the full range of their employment needs in Thailand, including general advice on Thai labor laws and regulations, and specific representation in reviewing policies, rules, and employment agreements, and localizing company policies and other employment documentation to be compliant with local law.
  • Assisted one of the world’s largest flat product steel producers through a complex termination process related to the closing of one of their factories in Thailand, and the termination and transfer of employees for two of their subsidiaries to another factory location in Thailand.
  • Advised and assisted international clients in establishing companies in Thailand and also provided advice on the setting up of a representative office and branch office under foreign investment laws.
  • Advised one of the world’s largest asset managers on selling restrictions in Thailand related to a fund that invests in equity, debt, and short term securities around the globe.
  • Advised local and international clients on all aspects of labor law issues, including employment contracts, work rules, and termination.
  • Assisted in the execution of a complex will, including advice on the efficient assignment of familial assets.
