Eiichiro Kimura is a consultant in Tilleke & Gibbins’ corporate and commercial group in Bangkok. Trained in Japan, Thailand, and the United States, Eiichiro is a key legal advisor and liaison for Japanese and other international clients. He has a broad, hands-on knowledge of commercial legal issues, with particular expertise in trade, compliance, and employment law. Eiichiro is also experienced in guiding companies through litigation—and in helping them avoid costly disputes by advising them on contract drafting and various other legal procedures.
Prior to joining Tilleke & Gibbins, Eiichiro was an investment coordinator at a law firm and then a manager at a major audit company. He then moved in-house, first to work for a financial services company, and then for the Thai subsidiary of a Japanese manufacturing company. Eiichiro holds LLM degrees from George Washington University and Chulalongkorn University, and is fluent in Japanese, Thai, and English.
- Assisted a company in incorporation of an entity in Thailand, advised on the optimal shareholding structure for the business, and executed the necessary documentation and agreements.
- Assisted a company with the establishment and eventual merger of two insurance broker companies in Thailand.
- Advised a company on purchasing back shares held by other major shareholders in order to secure majority control of a company.
- Guided companies through litigation—both as plaintiff and defendant—before the Civil Court in Thailand with respect to claims of damages, employment issues, breach of contract, and other issues.
- Helped a company address challenges when consumers raised product-liability claims against the company with the Damrongtham Center of Thailand’s Ministry of Interior.
