Biography

Sorawit Partomtanasarn is an associate in Tilleke & Gibbins’ corporate & commercial group, where his broad expertise covers a range of financial and corporate matters.

Sorawit draws on his extensive legal experience to assist companies with strategic corporate and commercial activities by drafting and reviewing contracts (e.g., token purchase and share purchase agreements, loan and lease agreements, service and employment agreements, etc.), advising on fintech law (e.g., cryptocurrency, payment services, etc.), conducting due diligence in advance of business transactions, and researching and writing about significant legal and regulatory developments affecting business operations in Thailand.

Sorawit is also an accomplished litigator, with experience handling criminal litigation concerning financial misappropriation, defamation, and document fraud, as well as civil litigation concerning matters such as breach of contract, consumer protection, and business rehabilitation.

Sorawit holds an LLB from Thammasat University, an LLM in International Trade Law from the University of Leeds, and an LLM in Banking and Finance Law from Queen Mary University of London.


Experience
  • Assisted a fintech company by drafting legal documents related to fintech regulations in Thailand and provided legal advice in accordance with the country’s regulatory regime for digital assets and payment systems.
  • Researched emerging and shifting legal developments, such as regulations on cannabis, leasehold and property rental, business rehabilitation for SMEs, digital asset transactions, operation of payment systems, and so on.
  • Conducted criminal litigation regarding defamation and document fraud.
  • Drafted, reviewed, and revised various documentation related to corporate transactions and financial dealings, including lease agreements and share purchase agreements.
  • Assisted clients in civil litigation matters related to breach of contract, consumer protection, and business rehabilitation.
