Kitti Thaisomboon is a senior associate in the corporate and commercial team in Tilleke & Gibbins. With more than 20 years of experience, Kitti has successfully served both Thai and multinational clients in a broad range of industries, and has accumulated expertise in various practice areas including the law of contracts, joint ventures, mergers and acquisitions, insurance, real estate, product liability, and consumer protection.
Kitti truly understands the needs of in-house corporate counsel, as he previously worked as the manager of legal affairs and business at one of Thailand’s top trading companies, which has 50 affiliated companies. Based on this experience, he is able to deal effectively with sensitive and internal corporate matters, with proficiency in asset and share acquisitions, codes of business conduct, corporate structuring, directors’ liability, employment and labor relations, and real property and licenses.
In 2010, Kitti qualified as a business and financial advisor at the Kasetsart University and FPM Certificate Co., Ltd. He is also a member of the Thai Bar Association.
- Advised and assisted in one of only four acquisitions by foreign banks of domestic banks following the 1997 financial crisis.
- Assisted in the integration, renegotiation, and restructuring of two lubricants businesses in Thailand.
- Represented a large number of multinational corporations in the creation of joint ventures in Thailand, such as between two communications companies.
- Followed up mergers and acquisitions with legal services surrounding the restructuring and reorganization of both an IT company and a bank. This involved working at the client’s office for three to six months to facilitate a seamless transition.
- Advised several insurance companies on regulatory compliance with Thai insurance laws and other applicable laws, specifically when launching new products in the Thai market.
