Biography

Pathanin Sornchangwat is an associate in Tilleke & Gibbins’ dispute resolution department in Bangkok. He advises clients across the full spectrum of dispute-related matters, from prelitigation strategy through to trial and enforcement. His practice focuses on commercial litigation, contractual disputes, construction matters, high-net-worth family and estate administration issues, employment disputes, and criminal matters.

Pathanin works closely with both domestic and international clients to develop practical, commercially grounded strategies aligned with their legal and business objectives. He places particular emphasis on early risk assessment and mitigation, as well as on structuring effective case strategies to manage complex disputes and achieve favorable outcomes.

Pathanin holds an LLM from Columbia Law School and an LLB from Chulalongkorn University. He is a member of the Lawyers Council of Thailand.

  • Successfully negotiated a favorable settlement for a high-net-worth individual in cross-border cases concerning divorce, child custody, and prenuptial agreement enforcement, collaborating with New York counsel to execute a settlement agreement in parallel proceedings.
  • Assisted a foreign individual in successfully obtaining the first return order by the Thai Juvenile and Family Court under the Hague Convention on the Civil Aspects of International Child Abduction, enabling the return of the children to their country of habitual residence.
