Biography

Natthanit Mallikamal is an associate in Tilleke & Gibbins’ corporate and commercial group. She advises international and domestic clients on matters relating to banking and finance, project finance, and taxation, as well as on broader corporate and commercial matters including company formation, foreign investment (particularly entering into joint venture agreements and obtaining foreign business licenses), labor and immigration, and e-commerce transactions.

Natthanit holds an undergraduate degree in law from Chulalongkorn University, a master's degree in tax law from Queen Mary University of London, and a master's degree in international finance law from King's College London. She is fluent in Thai and English.


Experience
  • Worked closely with Tsar & Tsai Law Firm to represent CTBC Bank, one of the largest privately owned banks in Taiwan, in its THB 4.2 billion (approx. USD 128 million) direct acquisition of an additional 10.99% stake in LH Financial Group Public Company Limited, which owns LH Bank, among other subsidiaries in Thailand.
  • Advised a foreign financial institution on Bank of Thailand regulations and ongoing regulatory compliance with the Stock Exchange of Thailand concerning share offerings in Thailand.
  • Assisted and advised a joint venture between a Thai company and an innovative European company on international tax implications, particularly taxation of intellectual property.
  • Regularly draft legal memoranda for foreign clients on various tax matters, including tax planning relating to specific business tax, land and building tax, and corporate income tax.
  • Frequently advise clients on export and import restrictions concerning prohibited and restricted goods under Thai laws and specific customs regulations.
  • Conduct data mapping and gap analysis of compliance with Thailand’s Personal Data Protection Act for clients providing banking and financial services.
