Biography
Pawarun Limtrakool is an associate in Tilleke & Gibbins’ Dispute Resolution Department. Pawarun provides legal services from the pre-litigation stage to trials in court. She assists clients in matters related to international trade, construction, and insurance claims, as well as international arbitration procedures, such as foreign arbitral award registration and enforcement and revocation of arbitral awards. Pawarun mostly serves foreign and Thai corporate clients in the trade, shipping, and maritime insurance industries, and has additional background in corporate and tax matters.
Pawarun graduated with an LLB from Chulalongkorn University and is a licensed member of the Thailand Lawyers Council.
Experience
- Defending one of the world’s biggest surveying companies against claim’s that they issued a false weight and quality certificate for a shipment of rice, which is alleged to be the reason for the buyer's rejection of the cargo at its destination.
- Assisting a client in pursuing enforcement of a foreign arbitral award issued by the Badan Arbitrase Nasional Indonesia (BANI Arbitration Center) regarding a dispute arising from a coal purchase agreement.
- Represented a client in challenging an opposing party’s petition requesting payment of a court deposit of THB 200,000, which the court reduced to THB 20,000 after we our argument successfully proving the actual and reasonable amount.
- Successfully negotiated a dispute valued at over THB 150 million between the owner of a luxury condominium unit and the owner of the unit directly above regarding damage caused during renovation of the upper unit. After our action, the owner of the upper unit, together with the contractor, agreed to pay our client for all damages caused by the renovation.
