Biography

Tayagorn Warathornthnakul is a consultant in Tilleke & Gibbins’ regulatory affairs team in Bangkok. She advises and assists international and local clients in the cosmetics, food, hazardous substances and broader life sciences industries on market entry, obtaining and maintaining marketing authorization licenses, advertising and marketing regulations, and other related regulatory affairs matters. She also regularly prepares and reviews registration dossiers, and evaluates the feasibility of product registrations, advertisements, and labeling materials.

Tayagorn regularly authors articles covering updates of Thai laws and regulations applicable to the life sciences industry.

Tayagorn graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry from King Mongkut’s University of Technology Thonburi. She also received a Master’s degree from University College Dublin, where she focused on nanochemistry. During her studies, she completed publishable research covering various fields, including alternative energy, analytical chemistry, culinary chemistry, environmental chemistry, and sensoring.

  • Advised a biotechnology design and manufacturing company on Southeast Asian drug approval for several bespoke personal care and pharmaceutical products.
  • Advised an online video-sharing platform on the required licenses for selling cosmetics, food supplements, and medical devices in Thailand.
  • Acted for a multinational medical device and hazardous substance importer in negotiating with the Thai Customs Department to settle a discrepancy of the HS code for imported products.
  • Represented a leading hazardous substance company in conducting regulatory due diligence prior to its spin-off of high revenue product lines.
  • Acted for a foreign company in negotiations with the Food Division of the Thai FDA regarding food additive claims over a new range of health benefits.
