On April 8, Kobkit Thienpreecha, partner and director of Tilleke & Gibbins’ corporate and commercial group, will lead a webinar organized by the American Chamber of Commerce members to discuss various measures the Thailand government has put in place to combat the impact of the COVID-19 outbreak on companies in Thailand. He will be joined by Supasit Saypan and Varapa Aurat, two consultants in the corporate and commercial practice.
Kobkit and Supasit will focus mostly on the corporate relief measures that have been introduced since the onset of the outbreak, such as the government’s announcement of increased flexibility regarding the required annual general meeting of shareholders. Their insights will help companies understand how they can best incorporate continued compliance into their emergency responses plans. Varapa, a specialist in Thailand’s tax laws, will speak about the various tax relief measures that are available to companies impacted by the crisis.
As businesses continue to implement their contingency plans for dealing with the disruptions and look ahead to recovery from the present challenges, understanding the incentives and mechanisms available will give them an advantage in pressing ahead successfully. Virtual tools, such as webinars other online initiatives to collect and distill the most influential business-related updates, are important tools in fighting the disruption of the present crisis.
