Multilaw Enforcement of Foreign Judgments Project 2019 – Thailand Chapter
Multilaw

As the exclusive Thailand member firm of Multilaw, a leading global network of independent law firms, Tilleke & Gibbins contributed the Thailand chapter to the organization’s Enforcement of Foreign Judgments Project. Michael Ramirez, a senior consultant in the firm’s dispute resolution group, wrote the Thailand chapter, in which he explains that foreign court judgments are not enforceable in Thailand, but that the country has extensive rules for enforcing foreign arbitral awards.

The Thailand section of the project includes two parts. The first is on the availability of interim measures under the Thai Civil Procedure Code, while the second is on the fundamental principles of enforcing foreign judgments in Thailand, drawing on provisions of the Thai Arbitration Act to outline such issues as procedures, time limits, oppositions, and debt recovery.

The full Thailand PDF is available below.

Tilleke & Gibbins also contributed the Vietnam chapter to the Enforcement of Foreign Judgments Project.
