Chambers Asia-Pacific 2017: Tilleke & Gibbins’ IP Practice in Thailand Earns Top Ranking
Chambers Asia-Pacific

Tilleke & Gibbins’ intellectual property (IP) practice has been recognized by Chambers Asia-Pacific  with a “Band 1” ranking for the tenth consecutive year in 2017. The important milestone reflects the firm’s continued commitment to legal excellence and its client-centric focus.

The Chambers  editorial accompanying the ranking recognized Tilleke & Gibbins IP practice group for its highly experienced teams of patent and trademark experts, who have assisted clients across the region, particularly in criminal and civil IP litigation. One satisfied client stated, “The quality of work product is generally very good. Often we have time-sensitive matters and they turn it around very quickly.” Local market sources are all in agreement that “their IP work is without rival in South-East Asia. They manage work in difficult jurisdictions pragmatically and realistically and with clear lines of communication.”

The editorial highlighted the firm’s notable practitioners, including Darani Vachanavuttivong, co-managing partner and managing director of Tilleke & Gibbins’ IP group, who maintains a truly regional practice in the patents area and regularly advised clients across Southeast Asia. As deputy director of the firm’s IP group, Alan Adcock was also recognized by peers and clients alike for his experience. Market sources described his work as “very impressive,” and go on to remark that he “works for a very large number of multinationals and is highly responsive, has deep expertise and just has a really lovely ability to synthesize really complex regulated stuff in a really client-friendly way.”
