Michelle Ray-Jones, a consultant in Tilleke & Gibbins’ intellectual property group, will speak on intellectual property protection in the Thai tourism sector, as part of the “Tourism in Thailand” webinar, which is being jointly organized by the South-East Asia IPR SME Helpdesk and the Thai European Business Association.

Michelle will provide an overview of IPR protection in Thailand, and the steps that should be taken by EU SMEs prior to entering the tourism sector, such as performing a trademark search and filing a trademark application.  Michelle will also discuss potential problems that can be faced when entering the Thai market, including difficulties in registering a trademark, issues with licensees, and combatting IP infringement.
