The Global New Light of Myanmar

On April 1, 2015, Tilleke & Gibbins co-hosted an intellectual property enforcement training session in collaboration with the Attorney General of Myanmar of the Union Attorney General’s Office, Myanmar, at the Lake Garden Hotel in Nay Pyi Taw. The training session brought together officers from the courts, the Justice Department, the police force, the Customs Department, and the Attorney General’s Office, to broaden their knowledge on intellectual property enforcement in Asian countries and to train the participants on product identification techniques. The Global New Light of Myanmar  newspaper reported on the event.

The newspaper highlighted Darani Vachanavuttivong, co-managing partner and director of the intellectual property department at Tilleke & Gibbins, for her staunch commitment to stemming the tide of counterfeit products. In recognizing the challenge faced by Myanmar, Darani “pledged to discuss prevention of fake IP products,” at the seminar, the newspaper reported.
